Sushi for Newbies

Try these palate-friendly sushi for beginners 

Some may be afraid to try sushi because of the whole “raw fish” thing. But if you really want to try it and can’t decide what to try first, try rolls. Rolls are more approachable, and often available with cooked ingredients. Sushi rolls start off with the basic fish wrapped in seaweed and rice. Then other ingredients are added in for flavor. 

Most of these ingredients are familiar to you already, so it won’t be a shock to your taste buds. If you like spicy, try something with wasabi or sriracha. Try dipping them in soy sauce, topping with a small amount of wasabi, and don’t forget to cleanse your palate with the pieces of ginger on the side in between different rolls.

CALIFORNIA ROLL

Crab mix, avocado, and cucumber.

B.F.F. ROLL

Tempura shrimp, crab mix, cucumbers, and cream cheese topped with seared tuna. Served with special miso mayo and sriracha.

  

VNR ROLL

Tempura shrimp, crab mix, cream cheese, cucumbers, and avocado wrapped in soy paper with spicy wasabi mayo and spicy mayo.

 

DRAGON ROLL

Tempura shrimp, cream cheese, and cucumbers inside, topped with avocado, eel, and glazed with eel sauce.

AMAZING ROLL

Tempura shrimp, crab mix, and cream cheese inside, topped with crab, wasabi mayo, spicy mayo, and eel sauce.

 

COWBOY ROLL

Spicy tuna and avocado inside topped with crab and our sweet sauce.

 

AVALANCHE ROLL

Crunchy California roll topped with fried shrimp, crawfish, spicy mayo, and eel sauce.

 

RUSSIAN ROLL

California Roll topped with white tuna and wasabi mayo.

 

SPIDER ROLL

Tempura soft shell crab, cucumbers, avocado, and eel sauce.

 

SHRIMP TEMPURA ROLL

Tempura shrimp, cucumber, avocado, and eel sauce.

 

SPICY TUNA ROLL

Spicy tuna and cucumber.
